Our Reading Comprehension and Writing Strategies program is designed to foster a love of reading and build essential literacy skills in young learners. Students engage with interesting passages, learning to extract key information and deepen their understanding of stories. Through comprehension questions and creative writing prompts, the program nurtures creativity and ensures that students form a strong connection with the text. The goal is to help students recall important details and information, making it easier to answer questions and provide thoughtful written responses. This makes reading both educational and enjoyable.
What happens in the class
In each class, students will dive into engaging passages, answer comprehension questions, and respond to creative writing prompts, fostering both their reading and writing skills. Throughout the course, each student receives personalized attention from the teacher, ensuring they fully understand the material and can express their creativity. Students will learn how to annotate and form a relationship with the text and the author. The writing aspect hones students’ ability to craft concise, thoughtful responses to key literary elements. All their work will be compiled into individual portfolios, which will be shared on the last day of class to highlight their progress and achievements.
